Why engineers struggle with catalog RFID.

No real characterization data

Catalog datasheets show nominal performance in ideal conditions. Engineers receive parts, run tests, and discover actual read range is well below spec — mid-program.

Unmatched antennas and readers

Standard catalogs sell antennas and reader ICs separately with no validated matching data. Integration requires trial-and-error antenna tuning that consumes weeks of engineering time.

Form factor compromises

Catalog antennas come in fixed sizes. Products with non-standard mechanical envelopes — wearables, chargers, industrial enclosures — have no catalog solution that fits.
